Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) - volunteers needed!

Gaining practical tax experience and helping fellow students. Volunteer with the CVITP that will be occurring at Camosun in April 2025.听 A volunteer with the CVITP prepares income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and simple tax situation.

If you would like to volunteer, follow these steps:

The CPA Financial Literacy program delivers free, unbiased, and objective financial education to British Columbians and Yukoners of all ages. This session teaches post-secondary students practical ways to take control of their finances.

Industry events for accounting and finance students

Calling all BC and Yukon post-secondary students!听 Gain valuable experience solving real-world business problems and win up to $2400. Gather your teammates and join the CPABC Business Case Competition 2025 to demonstrate your skills and creativity.

The CPABC Annual Business Case Competition is a business strategy case competition with two rounds.听 The top 8 teams from the virtual first round will be invited to compete in the Final Round at the CPABC office in downtown Vancouver, followed by an evening networking and celebration reception at Shangri-La Vancouver.

Are you a post-secondary students interested in becoming a CPA after you graduate?听 This session will cover the CPA program in detail and include an open Q&A with CPABC's Student Recruitment Officer.听 This sessions will be tailored to post-secondary students interested in becoming a CPA and is open to students from any university or college program.

If you are thinking of working in public practice, join Doane Grant Thornton for an engaging information session in CBA 209 or online to learn expert tips, insights and about the many career options provided in public practice. During this event, you'll have the chance to meet their national and local hiring team, gain insights into their firm, and discover how they support students in co-op and post-graduate positions. You'll also receive tips for the upcoming spring recruitment season, including how to ace Doane Grant Thornton's digital interview.

If you have 30 minutes, join this short session with CPABA staff answering pre-submitted and live questions about the Practical Experience Requirements (PER).

This session will solely focus on frequently asked questions (FAQs), pre-submitted questions, and live questions from the audience. No formal overview of the CPA program will be given during the session. Please be sure to watch this before attending this session.

January 28, 5:3-7pm

Discover how to transfer your international education and work experience in accounting/finance to the CPA program. This session covers admission requirements, program structure, and connecting with employers in the accounting sector.

Special guest speakers from BC settlement agencies, ISSofBC, MOSAIC and S.U.C.C.E.S.S., will discuss their resources available for newcomers in BC, including financial assistance, free mentorship, and career counselling to help you become a CPA.

  • CPAEF bursaries and scholarships
    Every year CPAEF offers a bursary program to BC students based on financial need with two deadlines to apply each year: May 15 and November 15. Scholarships are also available to students attending one of eleven BC post-secondary institutions that do not have named awards: applications are due May 1.
